2016 round up!

It was super hard picking my favourite images from through out the year, which is proof I was blessed with an uncountable amount of new friends and self-made family! So THANK YOU so so much for making 2016 so amazing for me, and I simply can not wait to see what adventures 2017 has in store! X

There's no place like home...

My mother paid for me to return home for my birthday! I spent the week doing the usual: documenting my family with my camera; trying new techniques; catching up with old friends; regenerating and rejuvenating in general :)

It was a perfect flight into Wellington (practically unheard of, thanks to the winds)

My siblings and I chased a sunset to the river for a mini portrait session (semi against their will)

Then we shot off to the nearest beach, Petone, for some stunning ocean/sunset combos!

And they helped me by being human tripods when it came to trying out some self portraits...

I introduced them to Astro Photography, and they obliged, yet again, to be my human points of interest

A few days later, my grandparents came down to visit. I decided it was about time I documented their adorable little life - my grandad used to be a builder, so he converted an old school bus into a house bus for him and my dear granny to travel the country in:

My best friend, Matt, just so happened to be in town (just kidding - I planned the trip for when he was in Wellington, too, so we could see each other before he moved to the UK!)

Our tradition is Burger Fuel, gelato, walking along the waterfront, then catching up over a cheeky cider in bean bags on the grass at St John's Bar.

While staying with my mother, I figured it was about time to show off her impressive teddy bear collection. This wasn't even half of it...

My dad had to work most of the time I was in town this time around, so I visited him at the hospital instead. He's an Emergency Department nurse with two PhD's, so they have to call him Dr Nurse Doug!

I am so incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such loving, caring, supportive people. You're all beautiful in your own way, and I wouldn't change you for the world. I love you all, and appreciate each and every single little thing you do for me. Xx

Taygan Bassi

Rohan Hinton and Taygan Bassi have rapidly become two of my favourite people here in Sydney, and we're honestly like the three musketeers!

One Sunday, we decided to venture out to Wattamolla Beach for a mini portrait adventure. We quickly threw together some outfits, and packed my lensbaby spark to play with! We found our own little spot hidden away from others, and ventured into the long grass and shallow waters to produce some of my most beloved portraits to date.

This gorgeous soul is hauntingly beautiful, both inside and out. I've developed an extremely deep admiration of our friendship and her many, many talents.

At the bottom of this post is a mini video I made with my lensbaby spark - let me know what you think!

Kiara Rose Photography Retreat | Blue Mountains, September

I was privileged enough to have the opportunity to attend one of Kiara Rose Photography's retreats in the Blue Mountains for a weekend getaway of shooting, networking, teaching and learning.

This retreat rocked me to my core, opened my eyes to new ways of thinking and seeing, allowed me to meet and assist fellow creatives, and to teach and learn different skills and techniques. I highly recommend attending something similar; just throw yourself out there and try something new.

Here are a select few images from the weekend, including one of my favourite ever self portraits.

This image is something I never thought I would ever have achieved. To be comfortable enough to bare myself in public, the editing, the end result. This work shop rocked me to my core, and pushed me to new extremes, and I'll never be the same, but all for good reasons.

Andre Corey

Andre Corey is:

  • Mr Pole Dance NZ

  • A pole dance teacher at poleclass.co.nz, with guest appearances all over NZ

  • About to become a personal trainer

  • The first pole dancer I ever photographed, opening my eyes to a whole new fairly unseen world

  • Competing on an international level in May

  • A beautiful specimen, inside and out.

  • A warm, bubbly, charismatic, elegant, majestic beast with a heart of gold.

  • Very patient and understanding

  • A wonderfully supportive friend

I thought I'd try some fisheye madness on this shoot, and I'm super happy with the results! What do you think?

PS - down the bottom is a little treaty for your eyes x

Lily Grace

Thank you so much, Rachael and Jayden, for welcoming me into your beautiful home, and allowing me to photograph your darling mini family.

Lily is an absolute gem - super chill and happy! A treat to photograph! She's already a stunner, with captivating blue eyes and a calming persona.

My job is a blessing, and portrait sessions like this are the best kind of reminders.

Anderson-Hunt's

On New Year's Day, Bianca and I ventured out to Manly to catch up with my old neighbours, Kirsten and Adam. It had been around two years since I last saw them, and my how their beautiful daughters have grown!

Kaydam is exactly how I remember her - absolutely full of life and such a laugh! An absolute darling to be around.

Kali Ann was a mere baby, just learning how to crawl; now she's got an amazing personality, so bubbly and individual, and positively hilarious.

And Paris, you really are a beautiful young woman. You will go so far in life, I just know it.

Kirsten and Adam, you are completely blessed with the lovely children you have. And I am blessed to call you my friends. X

2014 Round Up

I don't know about you, but as the days go by, I certainly appreciate how precious time is; 2014 absolutely flew by, and my what a year it was!

My photography (as well as my personal being) developed and changed so much over the past twelve months, and I have so many creatives/new friends to thank for this!

I've already said a huge spiel about how much you mean to me, so I won't bore you with another one.

Instead, I've decided to do a round up of my favourite images from through out 2014:
