Hey, I’m Zara!
I’m a New Zealander that calls Sydney “home”, and I specialise in naturally lit, documentary-styled, candid lifestyle portraiture.
The way the sun pours in through a window and dances on freckled, crinkly, laughing noses, or dapples between tree leaves onto picnic blanket snugs - these are the moments I admire and photograph, while you’re not paying attention so it’s all natural.
The photos I take of you won’t be overly posed; I like to capture the purity of heartfelt connections and real life moments.
There was a black and white portrait book based on strangers walking through Central Park, NY, at my primary school library, and that’s how I got hooked - the day I visited Central Park 11 years later was very emotional!
I studied both film and digital photography, and have been a portrait photographer for over 10 years. As well as photographing families and weddings, I teach Beginner Photography, and provide family portraits for The Dreams Project, based out of Greenwich Hospital, Sydney.
Outside of photography, I’m addicted to coffee and chocolate (who isn’t?!), and I’m a self-confessed crazy plant lady.
Let’s get to know each other and create ever lasting memories frozen into pretty pictures.
